Shopping List

Take the guess work out of  what to buy at the grocer. Here is a budget friendly list.

Meats/Protein

eggs, ground turkey & beef, turkey breast, turkey bacon, skinless chicken breast, deli roast beef, salmon, top sirloin steak, tilapia, white tuna, peanut butter

Produce

bananas, cauliflower,broccoli, tomatoes, bell peppers, blue berries, strawberries, cherries, green beans, asparagus, salad mix, zucchini, spaghetti squash, grape fruit, oranges, avocados, pineapple, butternut squash, onions, potatos (white and sweet)

Whole Grains

oatmeal (not the flavored, sugar filled selection), high-fiber cereal (again beware watch the sugary selections), whole wheat and whole grain breads/ pastas/tortillas, whole wheat english muffins, brown rice, gluten free versions of everything listed if you are sensitive

Dairy

milk (low fat, skim, 1%), rice milk, almond milk, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, cottage cheese (low-fat, 1%), cream cheese (low fat), yogurt (low fat, 2%)

Beverages

Water, Water, Water!!!

Spices

Cinnamon, black pepper, sea salt

Condiments/Dry Goods

light mayo, low-fat salad dressings, mustard, salsa, honey, low sodium spagehetti sauce, marinated artichoke hearts

Suppliments

whey protein powder, soy protein powder

Gluten Free Products

Bob’s Red Mill sells many great G Free products such as oatmeal, oatmeal flour, brown rice flour, quinoa flour, sorghum flour, coconut flour, etc. Udi’s has a wonderful brand of G Free breads, granola, muffins, pizza crust, etc.  Rice Crispyand Chex are 2 cereal brands that both have G Free products.
